June the 11th was glorious, what better a setting for UAP’S inaugural Golf Day. Dave Jennings of UAP has wanted to do this for quite some time and thanks to the assistance of his National Sales Manager Barry Halpin the scene was set in the picturesque surroundings of Oulton Hall Hotel Rothwell ( part of the Q group).
Oulton hall has 27 holes in all, an 18 and a 9 hole course, beautifully landscaped and surrounded with many trees and even a picturesque church spire to be seen from the 17th.You wouldn’t believe this could be so close to Leeds city centre.
The day began in the sumptuous clubhouse with a warm welcome from Barry along with tea and coffee and the all important Bacon Sandwiches and a well thought out goodie bag complete with tee’s ,Balls a detailed hole by hole plan of the entire course and complementary 50 balls for the Driving range.
The various teams from CLEARVIEW – PERFORMANCE DOORSET SOLUTIONS – MASTERDOR – ALTERNATIVE WINDOWS – TRULY PVC – ROCAL – UAP – KEYLINE assembled, chatted and practised on the green ready for first T off at 12.00
The course contained a good mix of challenges and safer holes for those of a high standard and the likes of myself on a 28 handicap culminating on a spectacular upward sweeping 18th which after a challenging round was my best hole.
After the game UAP’s hospitality continued at a high standard with a free bar and time to reflect, network and relax before Dinner upstairs.
For those that were able to stop the meal it was a delight, tasty food served impeccably in once again sumptuous surroundings with a panoramic view of the course.
Following the meal there was some amusing entertainment and the all important presentations.
The team prize was won by PERFORMANCE DOORSET SOLUTIONS. Nearest the pin was Brian Wood of ALTERNATIVE WINDOWS and Tony Benson from TRULY PVC was the longest drive.
Once again a big thankyou to Barry Halpin and Dave Jennings and all at UAP for a great day. Ian Wilkinson – Director Clearview
