The pioneering exhibition at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, organised by the owners of the industry’s leading trade magazine, The Locksmith Journal, will showcase products and services from an array of renowned industry suppliers, all under one roof, as well as offering free workshops and seminars, with the opportunity to earn CDP points.

Research conducted by The Locksmith Journal shows there is a strong appetite for free training among locksmiths and tradespeople, something that will also strike a chord with architects and others engaged in Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) says chartered members must do at least 35 hours of CPD each year. And the Lockex seminars provide the perfect opportunity to build up CPD learning points – all free of charge.

The seminars are presented by well-respected names from security giants such as Abloy and Securefast. Abloy is part of Assa Abloy, the world’s biggest lock group, while Securefast is the largest independent lock manufacturer in the UK and an Abloy approved reseller, offering everything lock-wise up to the most sophisticated access control systems, also providing technical support to stockists, specifiers and installers.

The Lockex seminar speakers will be Pat Jefferies, Commercial Director of Abloy, and Securefast’s Kevin O’Reilly (Operations Director) and Duncan Crawley (Managing Director). Between them, the three experts have over a century’s experience in mechanical and electrical security systems.

Securefast will be presenting seminars entitled ‘Electrical Panic & Escape Hardware’ and ‘Security Levels in Access Control’, while Abloy presents material from its own ‘Foundations Course.’ This looks at all the standards applicable to the door set, from hinges to door closers through to electric and mechanical locks.
