The MLA Expo 2013 saw the welcome return of the highly regarded Viro brand to the UK market, thanks to SKS. In a show of solidarity, Viro’s Sales Manager joined SKS Sales Manager, Richard Hawkins, on the SKS stand for the duration of the exhibition. Richard tells The Locksmith Journal all about this new partnership…
“The Viro brand, based in Bologna, Italy, is world-renowned for its focus on quality and a wide range of security solutions, including the VIRO® Rectangular and Cylindrical padlocks as well as safes, and steel door locks,” explains Richard.
“Viro had a high presence in the UK but unfortunately went into decline when its UK distributors suffered as a result of the recession,” Richard says. “However, when Viro took the decision to re-establish its UK presence, SKS was approached to be the sole UK distributor for the Viro range.
“Naturally, we were delighted. The Viro products fit well into our existing portfolio and that of our customers, giving them something unique over other suppliers. And Viro shares the SKS ethos of quality and making a product the best it can be,” adds Richard.
The MLA Expo proved to be a great launch platform for the new partnership with the Viro products receiving plenty of positive feedback. Richard continues, “Having Viro’s sales manager with us at the show demonstrated the commitment from them as a supplier. We were able to display the full range of Viro products that will be available to the UK market.
“There is still lots of work ahead but, over the coming months and years, SKS hopes to develop a longstanding supply relation with Viro so that our joint customer base can benefit from an enhanced product offering.
“We have 9 sales representatives around the UK and Northern Ireland and the MLA exhibition proved to be a great reason to get together, meet our customers and share ideas, as well as cementing the new partnership with Viro,” Richard concluded.
