Ian Scott, Sales Director at Securefast plc has announced his retirement from the company on the 31st March 2015. After deciding to retire, Ian will bring a close to a remarkable Ironmongery career spanning 46 years in the Ironmongery Industry, with over 15 years of continuous service with Securefast.
Beginning in 1969 with King & Co in Hull, Ian then joined Mateer & Nelson Ltd, also in Hull, where he helped to build their Architectural Division, a role in which he progressed to ultimately becoming their Sales Director and then Share Holder. In 2000 Duncan Crawley, Securefast’s Managing Director, invited Ian to join him in helping to grow a new business, Security Engineering Ltd, a company which, through successful organic growth and strategic acquisition, has since evolved into Securefast plc, one of the UK’s leading brands in the Fire, Safety and Security market.
Ian’s knowledge of mechanical locking mechanisms and the needs of Architects and Specifiers helped introduce a number of new ranges such as the Scandinavian style locks, Cylinders, Special Need products and also helping extending the original Mortice lock ranges under the Securefast brand.
Ian’s invaluable contribution to the industry will be sadly missed by both his wide circle of customers and his colleagues at Securefast and the company wish Ian a happy and healthy retirement.
