UNION, part of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, a division of ASSA ABLOY, is encouraging building and facilities managers to secure extensions, with its keyRETRO™ masterkey system.
Allowing existing traditional UNION systems to be extended as security requirements change, and eliminating the need to install a new masterkey system as buildings are redeveloped, keyRETROÔ represents a cost effective and convenient way to extend masterkey suites while introducing patent protection.
If an existing system has become compromised through unauthorised key copying, keyRETROÔ is an ideal solution, as duplicates cannot be made through traditional methods, offering facilities and security managers added peace of mind.
Plus, the 19-year patent protection on key and cylinder assembly, combined with personnel restrictions for key cutting, greatly reduces the risk of a system becoming compromised.
Brett Adderley, Product Manager for UNION, commented:
“Despite the slow down in the construction industry, refurbishments and extensions within the public and even the commercial sector are going ahead. keyRETROÔ is the ideal product for this market, as it can be easily integrated into building extensions without the fear of compromising security or the associated costs of a new masterkey system.
“Building extensions represent a very specific security problem, and are often the gateway for existing systems to become compromised. Thanks to our experience in this area we are able to offer a cost effective and time saving solution through our keyRETROÔ system.
Suitable for use in projects of all sizes, the keyRETROÔ range is extensive, encompassing single, double and thumbturn models of euro and oval profile cylinders, including clutch release and classroom functionality. UNION’s high security padlock range, along with a selection of traditional brass padlocks, are also available for keyRETRO.
keyRETROÔ cylinders are available as either 5 pin or 6 pin, to suit the masterkey suite they will be integrated into. keyRETRO technology increases the key-related security of a Traditional UNION system, with 6 pin cylinders meeting the highest standard of BS EN 1303:2005.
UNION Architectural Hardware supplies an extensive range of locks and architectural hardware used in many applications through professional locksmiths and ironmongers. UNION is part of ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in door opening solutions.
