Codelocks broadens its portfolio with new door controllers

Codelocks announces availability of its first keyless door controller range, Access by Codelocks. The new A3 range features three different models, each providing proximity access control without requiring complex software purchases, external programmers or licensing costs.

The A3 RFID, A3 Dual and A3 Vandal Resist door controllers act as a reader where users present credentials via a card or code to open a door. Providing reassurance and an additional layer of security, Codelocks A3 door controllers help prevent unauthorised access.

Colin Campbell, managing director at Codelocks said, “We are extremely excited to offer a new compact, keyless, standalone product, Access by Codelocks to our customers. Our first, off the door solution provides affordable proximity access control without the need for licensing or additional software and is ideal for retail stores, staff rooms and offices that require quick, convenient and effortless access.”

All models include a variety of functions to suit a wide range of access control requirements. A3 door controllers are hardwired and work alongside existing magnetic locks and electronic strikes. Helping to keep costs to a minimum, specific cards or fobs are not required to integrate with the system, as all models are RFID and MIFARE® compatible. The A3 Dual and Vandal Resist models also support 125KHz cards and fobs. All A3 door controllers require connections to a push-to-exit button, a power supply and maglock or electric strike, which briefly releases the lock for exit.

No external programming devices are required, managers can simply programme the controllers at the door and can assign, remove and reassign access for users as required. The A3 range is user friendly, as code and card access can be allocated and deleted at the door. When an incorrect card or code is presented 10 times, a time delay is triggered, making it difficult for unauthorised users to gain entry.

Functions also include Latch Mode which enables code and card free access and Pulse Mode allows an adjustable re-lock time to be set, offering flexible access options.

The A3 range has Panic Client capability. In the event of a door being forced opened against a person’s will, a Panic Code or Card can be used which allows entry and triggers a silent alarm, if connected, to signal for help.

The A3 Dual and A3 Vandal Resist models feature a Door Interlock function that allows two door controllers to be linked. This functionality helps maintain the security of buildings as well as protecting those inside, as it means that the first door needs to be closed before the second door can be opened – ideal for storage rooms, offices, staff rooms and areas where valuables and safes are kept.

The A3 Dual and A3 Vandal Resist are also capable of acting as a Wiegand reader enabling devices to be connected together as part of a larger network, helping business control access and prepare for growth.
