Glen Butler, Sales Centre Manager at HOPPE UK, gives a comprehensive overview of the key things that locksmiths need to know about ARRONE padlocks.
ARRONE was established in the UK in 1988 and, as a HOPPE brand, benefits from HOPPE’s 40 years of experience in the door and window hardware industry. Building on this industry knowledge and insight, ARRONE launched two padlock series – the AR85 and the AR90/54 – to offer locksmiths a wider range of styles and functionality.
Brass padlocks
The range contains three different size brass padlocks – 30mm, 40mm and 50mm – all with hardened steel shackles. Brass padlocks are resistant to rust making them suitable for high moisture applications and outdoor use. With such versatile applications, brass padlocks are a popular choice for both domestic and commercial use at a cost-effective price point.
The padlocks are available with two different keying options: keyed to differ or keyed alike. Padlocks that are keyed to differ can only be opened by the keys supplied in the box. Keyed alike is ideal for users that need to use several padlocks but doesn’t want to have multiple keys. Rather than having to switch keys to open each padlock, this keying method allows a single key to be used, saving time and reducing the risk of lost keys.
Fingerprint padlocks
For those who are looking for a digital option without complex functionality, there is also the AR90/54 padlock series. This padlock can be unlocked using just a fingerprint and respond to recognised prints in less than a second.
The Zinc housing and steel alloy shackle provide enhanced tamper and corrosion resistance. The padlock can be used indoors and outdoors, making it suitable for securing lockers, sheds and bicycles. With a long-lasting, rechargeable battery, the FingerScan Padlock can be used for up to 200 days from a single charge and uses a standard USB power cable to recharge.
